Reiki with Roz

Alternative healing is my thing. Its a modality that chose me many years ago through massage therapy and has managed to pique my interest to this day as a Metaphysics student. The objective of this blog is to share my experiences with you on all platforms & this post is no different.

I'm a huge fan of bargain shopping sites, you name it, I'm a member. From Dealzone to Daddysdeals, Groupon to Cityslicker, I'm on them all! So when Wicount offered a Reiki session within my budget I said yes with all the joy my heart could handle. 

Never having experienced this form of alternative therapy I was both intrigued and eager to find out if there were noteworthy results and value for money. 

En Route to Glenhove

Roz Brickman is a qualified Reiki Master based in Glenhove just outside of Sandton's busy business hub. I had chatted to Roz via email after purchasing the deal online for a 1 hour session for Reiki or Reflexology. Roz works from home in Glenhove, an immaculate and intimate residence with the most welcoming energy. 

She leads us up to her healing studio where a bed stands central in the space that is surrounded by all things Angelic and Ayurvedic. Certifications hang on the walls with faces of cherubs smiling back at you. She is a warm and gentle person who put me at ease from the moment we met face to face.

Let the Healing Begin

I'm not sure what I was expecting but I was open to receiving. The none physical session lasts 1 hour and Roz starts with a brief sit down and chat. Once on the bed she covers me with a blanket and explains the process. The enigmatic tone of her voice releases all tension and reservations one would have and I felt at peace and relaxed.  

The session brought with it many moments of distraction within my mind. I wanted to be focused but found myself drifting through my day, grocery shopping lists and the plans for the upcoming weekend until there was eventually - peace. There are no 'rules' to the session but I wanted to be fully present. Contrary to this notion I found myself in a peaceful asleep for a brief period of time. 

It was like a soul sleep therapy session as my body, aura and spirit had a chance to just 'whoosah!' and just 'be'. There were moments of physical contact which I welcomed after being untouched for an hour. Roz finishes the session and waits downstairs as I regain 'consciousness' and then she returns for a session debrief. 

My throat to base chakra's were out of alignment, I could feel the shift of energy as the 'frog' in my throat and an usually grumbly tummy indicated their new energy. 


Back for More

I left the session 'aligned' and all chakra's back in balance. I felt emotionally uneasy and somewhat sensitive. This kind of behaviour is somewhat typical for me as I'm very sensitive in general to this kind of therapy. 

Roz hands me a glass of water and we chat a bit. She is incredibly caring and helps where she can by means of referrals. I found her session very enjoyable and have already made an appointment for a Reflexology session. One needs balancing and realignment from time to time and Roz is just the person to assist if you're in the greater Johannesburg area.
